چکیده
Gujarat is a leading maritime state in the production of marine finfish and cephalopods India. The are one major fishery resources along region having good domestic export demand. These exploited majorly by bottom trawls region. Sepia pharaonis contributes nearly 20 % to cephalopod landings Gujarat. However, reproductive biology cephalopod, poorly known from specimens for biological analysis with fishing operations data using structured questionnaire were collected multi-day trawlers based at Veraval Fishing Harbour period 2017 – 18. maximum observed length (Dorsal Mantle Length (DML)) among all was 361 mm mean DML 239.52 (sample range DML). Sex ratio revealed that males dominant over females (M: F = 1:0.75) catch composition. size first maturity 213.1 DML, which lower than fishery. month-wise significant variations (p < 0.05) values GSI NSI during study peak indicate spawning season proportion stages different months as well indices indicates perennial activity December March months. ova diameter studies ovum sizes 0.99 14.30 (6.52±3.35). fecundity varied 1,358 6,005 (average 2,883). current research maiden attempt further supports formulation management plans sustainable exploitation resource.

متن کاملData supporting the anticancer activity of posterior salivary gland (PSG) toxin from the cuttlefish Sepia pharaonis Ehrenberg (1831)
The data presented illustrated the in vitro anti-proliferative effect of the PSG toxin from the cuttlefish, Sepia pharaonis. The cytostatic potentials of the PSG toxin were determined by the lymphocyte migration inhibition assay. The PSG toxin (50 μg/ml) exhibited commendable inhibition of the migration of lymphocytes across the agarose gel matrix under the presence of lipopolysaccharide mitoge...
متن کاملIsolation and partial characterization of collagen from outer skin of Sepia pharaonis (Ehrenberg, 1831) from Puducherry coast
Type I collagen from outer skin of Sepia pharaonis was extracted and partially characterized. Yield of Acid Soluble Collagen (ASC) and Pepsin Soluble Collagen (PSC) were calculated as 1.66% and 3.93% and the total protein content of ASC and PSC were found as 18.4% and 48.6%. FT-IR spectrum of ASC and PSC recorded 12 and 14 peaks, respectively. 1H NMR spectrum of ASC showed singlets at 1.23 ppm,...

Sepia pharaonis is an important commercial species endemic to the tropical Indo-Pacific region. Despite its commercial significance, only few information on natural populations is available. This study was aimed to describe the aspects of size-composition, length-weight relationship, catch rates, seasonal recruitment and inter-cohort growth patterns of S. pharaonis population (Clade C), distrib...
